I was planning to write a long blog post about my day (to sum up, I watched a drag race through the streets of the city and went to the José Fernandez art museum), but then something unexpected happened in the subway station that deserves its own post. As I was walking through the underground pathway towards the station, I saw a homeless man sitting with a guitar on the floor. He was reading from a piece of paper, and then began to attempt to sing "Time After Time" by Cyndi Lauper. It was quite obviously his first run through (and his english was terrible), but his singing made me genuinely smile. I even began singing aloud when he started the chorus. People stared. It was fantastic.
And just because music can work wonders when you least expect it... Enjoy.
