The Anthropologist's Perspective of Argentina (Fact 6)

So I don't know how much you know about Argentina, but their wine and beef is exceptionally good! But I learned something last night at dinner that surprised me quite a bit: whenever porteños have cheap wine on hand, they always mix it with seltzer water (about 50/50) to make it smoother ("más suave"). Also, "house wine" at restaurants is the cheapest (and the crappiest) wine on the menu. Meaning the restaurant recommends the wine the most efficient way to get drunk without breaking the bank.
